A blokart is a compact land yacht: a light steel chassis on three wheels, steered by hand, powered by a sail. It packs into a bag, rigs in minutes, and sails in anything from a breeze to a hard blow by swapping sail sizes.
It takes minutes to learn and years to master, which is exactly what makes the racing so good. Because every blokart is built the same, racing is about the sailor, not the wallet.
The blokart was invented in New Zealand by Paul Beckett, a windsurfer looking for the same feeling on land. Since the first karts rolled out around the turn of the millennium, the sport has spread to beaches, airfields and dry lake beds across the world, with national associations, international championships and a World Championships that crowns champions across production and performance fleets, light to super heavy.
Karts, sails and parts for the Caribbean come through Landsailing Adventures International, the regional blokart distributor, and the club will help you spec the right setup for our wind.
